Juneau Chiropractic Plan for Pain Relief and Prevention with Exercise

April 20, 2021

“Do I have to exercise?”

“Only exercise if you want to feel better faster and prevent pain,“ your Juneau chiropractic replies.

“How long do I have to exercise each day?”

“Not long, just properly,” Aurora Chiropractic Center suggests.

Exercise is not every Juneau back pain or neck pain patient’s ’thing’. Aurora Chiropractic Center understands. Exercise is also so key to our back and neck pain patient’s recovery and future prevention of the pain. We are with our Juneau chiropractic patients every step of the way to make the most of the exercise effort so that it results in pain relief and prevention.

OPTIMAL NECK PAIN EXERCISE GUIDES

Neck pain sufferers realize how pain may decrease their ability to look around comfortably. Such neck pain patients were tested for their cervical range of motion and pain intensity with a flexion-rotation test. They were then instructed to do a 20-minutes cervical spine exercise session. 50% of them were then also treated with manual therapy applied to the C0-C1 and C2-C3 cervical spine levels. Those who performed the exercise program and were treated did significantly better in terms of range of motion, pain intensity reduction, and the flexion-rotation test. (1) Another study revealed that the optimal stretching time of cervical muscles in patients with chronic myofascial pain syndrome was 30 seconds as contrasted with 15 or 60 seconds or no stretching. This allowed the most benefit to pain intensity reduction while diminishing any negative effects on neural function of the affected nerve roots and central nervous system. (2) Aurora Chiropractic Center always stresses that the appropriate exercise performed in the right way does not have to take long to be useful! Plus, exercise places some control in the hands of its sufferer since exercise can be done anytime.

OPTIMAL LOW BACK PAIN EXERCISE GUIDES

Integrating exercise training into the multidisciplinary treatment of non-specific chronic low back pain does make sense. This type of back pain involves so many people around the world and is a primary source of disability. Proper exercise training transitions the back pain sufferer to self-management. Recently, researchers proposed that pain intensity and disability - and even mental health struggles in such back pain patients - were improved with choices like resistance and aerobic exercise while Pilates, resistance exercise, yoga, and stabilization exercise. (3) Aurora Chiropractic Center agrees! Exercise is invaluable in so many ways.
