Aurora Chiropractic Center Helps Back Pain Patients Manage Their Back Pain
Chiropractic’s goal is to give the back pain sufferer a sense of control over the back pain and to live through the pain and not avoid life. That is also the goal of your Juneau chiropractor: gentle, pain-relieving, conservative care of spine pain. It’s a partnership among the Juneau back pain sufferer, the back pain care giver, and even the back pain payer (ie Medicare).
CHIROPRACTIC ENTHUSIASM FOR THE ROLE OF BACK PAIN PROVIDER
Being a chiropractor is the best! A recent survey reported that chiropractors like yours at Aurora Chiropractic Center relish their profession most as they are capable to reduce pain as well as increase strength, flexibility, and power with their patients via an inclusive treatment plan. Two of the best features of being a chiropractor were reported as “being trained to diagnose” – the foundation for quality care and desirable clinical outcomes! - and “being able to transform peoples’ quality of life.” (1) Your Juneau chiropractor agrees! Being your healthcare partner - your back pain specialist - particularly in managing spine pain issues is a big part of daily practice.
EFFECT OF HEALTHCARE PROVIDER AVAILABILITY: MD/Surgeon, DC, PCP
Researchers questioned how a community’s healthcare workforce influenced the care of low back pain sufferers. They found that one new spine surgeon increased non-conservative care episodes by 31.3 per 1000 older adults, the increase of one primary care physician decreased 2.5 conservative care episodes per 1000 older adults, and the addition of one chiropractor increased 18.7 conservative care episodes and subtracted 3.6 non-conservative care episodes per 1000 mature adults. The researchers admit certain limitations in their study as they pulled a certain group of patients from the 16 million Medicare Part B enrollees (who reported at least one occurrence of low back pain and relocation) which left 402,372 persons in the analysis set. (2) In the Medicare population, healthcare provider availability impacts how much is spent on each beneficiary. The effect is transformed by provider type and whether the provider availability rises or falls. Spine surgeon availability was most strongly linked with more spending. The loss of one spine surgeon in a community decreased spending. (3) In Juneau, back pain sufferers get a partner at Aurora Chiropractic Center who can help them with in-office care as well as at-home self-care.
EFFECT OF BACK PAIN PATIENT SELF CARE
Medicine is realizing that the one who is really at the center of managing pain and chronic disorders is the person suffering with pain and chronic disorder. When back pain is the chronic issue, the low back pain patient self-manages most of the time anyway and wants suggestions regarding how best to do that: when to seek more care (symptoms, imaging, advice), how to handle pain (behavioral changes to handle and prevent pain), and how to be assured of their independent pain management’s effectiveness. These all take encouragement from clinicians regarding education about the condition and the partnership of the patient and the healthcare provider. (4) Juneau back pain sufferers and their healthcare providers like your chiropractor at Aurora Chiropractic Center need to communicate how each views back pain management to best help the patient!
